As part of its efforts towards helping Brunei Darussalam achieve its aspiration to become a Smart Nation, the Darussalam Pilotage Services Sendirian Berhad, DPS has launched MarineM; a digital solution built to manage end-to-end digital delivery of DPS marine operations by automating core procedures, operations and billing in real time using mobile technology. The digital marine operating system was launched on 27th October morning, at the Cruise Ship Centre in Muara Port.

The launching was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy as Chairman of DPS. DPS handles about four thousand vessel movements annually, ensuring the safe passage of imports coming in and exports going out of the country. The digital system replaces the paper-based operating procedures, putting in place a more structured process. MarineM is adopted by DPS to follow international best practices in which it is also being utilised by ports all over the world such as in Indonesia, the United Kingdom and Singapore. DPS was established by Darussalam Assets Sendirian Berhad in 2018 to provide pilotage and towage services with a mission to ensure careful management and free flow of all traffic within Brunei waterways and beyond.
