The Knowledge Convention 2021 in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 75th birthday is organised accordingly to the preventive measures following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and taking advantage of digital media platforms. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office as Co-Chairman of this year's Knowledge Convention Steering Committee stated this during the Knowledge Convention 2021 Special Programme that was broadcast on television through Rampai Pagi.
Yang Berhormat added that changes and the effects of COVID-19 not only impact the people's social life, but also the socio-economy, even more so since the second wave of the pandemic in Brunei Darussalam. According to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the spread of COVID-19 has its own wisdom, as trials and tribulations that arise from it are solely for the purpose of elevating one's status. Yang Berhormat also explained that the selection of the theme 'COVID-19: Satu Iktibar' or COVID-19, A Lesson, aimed to raise awareness and make it as a guideline to see things that are happening now from a positive side.
Every tribulation or reminder that happens is destined by Allah Subhananhu Wata'ala, and has thousands of secrets, major lessons as well as wisdom behind it. Yang Berhormat said this is where the strength and weakness of an individual or institution is clearly revealed while facing such challenge. As all weakness are revealed and realised, the minister said this is the time to reflect, rise and improve the weakness and increase efforts to further strengthen them.
This year's Knowledge Convention takes into account the Business Continuity Plan, BCP that has been arranged and planned in detail. Meanwhile a special interview with Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs as Co-Chairman of this year's Knowledge Convention Steering Committee will be held on Saturday, the 6th of November 2021 on Rampai Pagi.
