Khatam Al-Qur’an and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony Marks 54th Anniversary of Bandar Seri Begawan.

Bandar Seri Begawan: In conjunction with the 54th anniversary of the renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan, a Khatam Al-Qur’an, Reading of Ratib Al-Attas, Selawat Tafrijiyyah, and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony was held at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital on the afternoon of November 28th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. Organised by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department, the event was attended by 897 individuals, including officers and staff from government departments, higher education institutions, private sectors, and various groups within the country. Members of the Legislative Council were also in attendance.

This ceremony underscores the significance of Bandar Seri Begawan’s historical renaming and highlights the communal participation in such cultural and religious observances.
