His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah attended the Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja which took place at the Balai Persantapan, Istana Nurul Iman.
The Menghantar Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja delegation led by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Retired Major General Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit arrived at Istana Nurul Iman.
The “Tanda Diraja" was handed over to Pengarah Awang Jaini, while the “Pertunangan Diraja" was handed over to Pengarah Awang Haji Kilali and Pengarah Awang Haji Brahim @ Momin. This was followed by 17 cannon shots to mark that the Tanda Diraja and Pertunangan Diraja had been received.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja was then invited to the Balai Persantapan, followed by the Menghantar Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja delegation.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan sought consent to inform Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz that the Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja was ready to proceed.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah instructed Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan to seek an audience with His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan then sought an audience with His Royal Highness.
His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin. The arrival of His Royal Highness was preceded by the Hulubalang Diraja carrying the Pemuras and Karga as well as the Hulubalang Asgar carrying the Kelasak and Kampilan, accompanied by bearers of the Alat-Alat Perhiasan Empat of His Royal Highness.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan sought consent to inform Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib that the Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja was ready to proceed.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib then informed His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik that the Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja was ready to proceed.
His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik in a sabda instructed for the ceremony to commence.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja entered and sat in the centre of the hall, followed by the Tanda Diraja and Pertunangan Diraja.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja then presented to His Royal Highness the Tanda Diraja and Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan as well as the Pertunangan Diraja.
His Royal Highness accepted the Tanda Diraja and Pertunangan Diraja.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan acknowledged His Royal Highness' sabda.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan sought permission to leave the hall and proceeded to the Dewan Resepsi, Istana Nurul Iman together with the Tanda Diraja and Pertunangan Diraja.
His Royal Highness then proceeded to a Special Chamber accompanied by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib.
The Tanda Diraja was then seated at the Dewan Resepsi, and the Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan placed in the middle of the function hall. The Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan were then carried and placed in front of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Manteri Bini to be witnessed by the Head of the Ceremony, Pengiran Empat as well as by those in attendance, and then transferred to other gangsa.
This was followed with the Pertunangan Diraja being seated at the Dewan Resepsi and the Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan being placed in the middle of the function hall. The Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan were then carried and placed in front of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Manteri Bini to be witnessed by the Head of the Ceremony, Pengiran Empat from the side of the Royal Bride as well as by those in attendance, and then transferred to other gangsa.
This was followed by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Manteri Bini as well as the Dayang-Dayang carrying the Gangsa-Gangsa Bawa-Bawaan to be presented to His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri.
The ceremony was followed by His Royal Highness proceeding to the Balai Persantapan.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan, followed by the Awang-Awang carrying the transferred Gangsa-Gangsa, re-entered the Balai Persantapan, followed by the Dian Enam Belas, and sat in the middle of the function hall.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan sought an audience and duly informed His Royal Highness.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, the State Mufti.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja then sought consent from His Royal Highness.
After being granted approval, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja left the hall, followed by other members of the delegation and departed Istana Nurul Iman.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan then sought consent to inform Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib that the Majlis Istiadat Menerima Tanda Diraja dan Pertunangan Diraja had been duly carried out.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib then informed His Royal Highness of the same.
His Royal Highness in a sabda gave approval for the ceremony to be brought to a close.
His Royal Highness then departed the ceremony. Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang and Manteri- Manteri Pedalaman, Heads of Missions, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments.
