Without dedicated teams of healthcare professionals, efforts in curbing the COVID-19 pandemic will not be successful. Those involved in the effort include nurses and midwives. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at the 1st International Nurses and Midwives' Virtual Conference.

Over one thousand five hundred local and overseas participants took part in the virtual conference aimed to extend knowledge and experience as well as to improve nursing practice, and adapting to any circumstance. The theme was explored in three different perspectives which includes Clinical Nursing Practice, Leadership and Education. The conference held in conjunction with the International Nurses and Midwives' Day, was organised by the Jerudong Park Medical Centre, JPMC in collaboration with the Department of Nursing Services, Ministry of Health.
