International Graduate Studies College Convocation Ceremony

The impact of globalisation challenges has resulted in the increasing demand for a professional and skilled workforce. Employers now view education institutions as centres of expertise in preparing students to become a skilled, knowledgeable and job-ready workforce. However, according to the Minister of Education, every endeavour to produce marketable graduates requires commitment from private higher education institutions. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman voiced this at the Convocation Ceremony for the International Graduate Studies College, IGSC. Yang Berhormat's speech was read by Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education.

In his speech, Yang Berhormat said that the private higher education sector is urged to arrange a more effective strategy by focusing on enhancing the quality of graduates through the diversification of programmes by broadening networks with industries and stakeholders as well as strengthening the role of career guidance. Yang Berhormat believes that by focusing on improving the quality of graduates, it will give access to graduates to more effectively make the school to work transition.

Present at the ceremony was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien. 136 graduates received their certificates in their respective fields. 23 of them received the Bachelor's Degree in Business, 25 received their Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, 10 received Bachelor's Degrees in Software Engineering with Multimedia, 42 received Diplomas, 29 received Arts and Design certification and 7 received certificates in Multimedia and Broadcast.
