International Conference on Islamic Thoughts, PEMIKIR 2

Every health, education, religious and government institution including Institutions of Higher Learning have its own role in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. The Divine vaccine which is verses of Al-Quran and supplications is among the major efforts implemented in Brunei Darussalam. This was among the matters underlined by Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Ra'es of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB in his keynote address at the second International Conference on Islamic Thoughts or PEMIKIR 2.

The conference is co-organised by KUPU SB through the Ahli Sunnah Waljama'ah Understanding and Research Centre, Tunku Tun Aminah Library and Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah Institute, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Johor Islamic Religious Council, Islamic Religious Department Johor State, and Johor State Mufti Department. With the theme 'Role of Institution in Facing Regional Prosperity and Peace during the COVID-19 Pandemic', the online conference was held with the aim to provide participants the opportunity to discuss the role of family institution of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah in facing regional peace and prosperity.

Earlier, the conference was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Dato Haji Md Rofiki bin Dato Haji A. Shamsudin, Director of the Islamic Religious Department Johor State. This was followed by the first keynote address by Sahibus Samahah Yang Berhormat Dato' Haji Yahya bin Haji Ahmad, Mufti Johor with the title ' The Role of Religious Institution in Preserving the Manhaj of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah in Johor during the COVID-19 Pandemic'.

In the second keynote address titled 'The Role of Institution In Facing Regional Prosperity and Peace During the COVID-19 Pandemic', the Ra'es of KUPU SB discussed on the principles of faith in any crisis with the teachings of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jemaah.

The conference then continued with the third keynote address delivered by Yang Amat Arif Tuan Haji Muhammad Khaldun bin Mohamad Sharif, Chief Syarie Judge of Johor State and Yang Berbahagia Encik Mustapahayuddin bin Abdul Khalim as Director of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah Institute, UTHM with the titles 'Role of Muslim Family Institution during COVID-19' and 'The Role of Education Institution in Empowering the Manhaj of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah during the COVID-19 Pandemic'.
