Various offences were recorded under the Infectious Diseases Act, Chapter 204 during operations conducted by the Royal Brunei Police Force. The operations conducted from the 14th of August 2021 to 23rd of September 2021 aimed to ensure the general public adhered to government's directives.
The operations include roadblocks, patrols and personnel action as well as assistance to stipulated locations. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Amiruddin bin Haji Tunjang, Head of Public Relations, Royal Brunei Police Force said that to date, 47 offences involving Quarantine Order violation have been recorded. There were also 712 offences involving individuals not wearing face masks, and 10 offences on mass gathering.
The public's cooperation is needed in together curbing COVID-19 transmission in the country.
