The Informative Community Programme is an approach to increase knowledge while disseminating the efforts and developments made by the government in enhancing the people's quality of life through briefings and visits. Towards this goal, the Information Department through the its Tutong District Branch with the cooperation of the Informative Community Programme Committee for Kampung Padnunok, Mukim Kiudang is organising such a programme for 2 days starting yesterday.
Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin, Head of Information Department's Tutong District Branch in his speech stated that competitive economic development is one of the vital components towards realising Wawasan Brunei 2035. He added community involvement in entrepreneurship is important towards achieving economic growth, and therefore should be given attention. This is because entrepreneurship is seen as a platform to reduce unemployment issues in the country that should be explored and ventured into, particularly by job-seeking youths. Present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, Member of the Legislative Council and Dayang Sastra Sarini binti Haji Julaini, Acting Deputy Director of Information.
The 20 participants then visited Darussalam Enterprise, DARe, in Anggerek Desa. A briefing was delivered by Awang Zulfadli bin Abu Bakar, Special Duties Officer of the Ease of Doing Business Secretariat, Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry. The briefing underscored three things necessary to achieve a conducive business environment, namely a fast approval process, lower cost and pro-business laws.
Dayang Nur 'Iffat Nazurah binti Abd Razak, Assistant Officer for Business Advisory and Services in her briefing shared DARe's role in establishing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises MSME by increasing its capabilities, providing training and development for MSMEs, simplifying pro-business ecosystems, encouraging entrepreneurship culture and encouraging MSME contributions to the economy.
