Bandar Seri Begawan: An individual was fined $100 by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) for committing an offence under the Miscellaneous Offences Act. MOHAMMAD AMIRUN ILMI BIN SHAHRON was found guilty of throwing a canned drink in the parking area of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge. The individual was given seven days to settle the compound.
According to Radio Television Brunei, if the fine is not settled within the specified time, MOHAMMAD AMIRUN ILMI BIN SHAHRON can be charged in court. Upon conviction, the penalties for the first offence include a fine of not less than $1,000 and not exceeding $3,000. For the second or subsequent offences, the penalties can escalate to a fine ranging from $3,000 to $9,000, or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or both.
