The 'EmployAbility' Programme fits the Department of Energy's 5th Strategic Objective which highlights the importance of having highly skilled workforce in the Energy Sector. Through the industry apprenticeship, it is aimed to close the gap in the mismatch of supply and demand of skills in the industry.

Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office underlined the matter at the at the Signing Ceremony of In-Service Trainees (Second Intake) of the Apprenticeship Programme - ''Under EmployAbility: A Brunei LNG Social Investment Flagship''. Present at the event which took place at the International Convention Centre was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. For the second intake, 9 in-services trainees have been selected to be reskilled at the Registered Training Organisations for 3 months, followed by 4 months of on-the-job training. The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE 2022.
