Hit-And-Run Incident

The Royal Brunei Police Force, RBPF is carrying out an investigation to identify vehicle driver involved in an accident between a car and a motorcycle at Kampung Salambigar, near Fayze Department Store, Jalan Muara. The incident occurred at 7:21 in the evening, on the 22nd of June. The motorcyclist was injured and rushed to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.

Preliminary investigation by Berakas Police Station personnel found the accident was caused by the driver while entering the intersection. RBPF advised the said driver to come forward to the Berakas Police Station to assist in the investigation. Under Section 34 1, Chapter 68 of Road Traffic Act, drivers involved in any accident are given 7 days to provide information to the authorities and if default, will be punished with a fine of $4,000 and 6 months imprisonment. The RBPF also seeks the public cooperation to share any information regarding the incident.
