35 food premises were found to have not applied for Halal Certificate and notices were issued to submit the application within 6 months. The notices were issued during a patrol operation at the Kiarong, Mata-Mata and Beribi areas by the Halal Food Control Division, Syariah Affairs Department for the enforcement of the Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order, 2005, recently.

During the operation, some 89 food premises were inspected. The Syar'iah Affairs Department urges all food business operators in the country who have not yet apply the Halal Certificate or Halal Permit to submit the application immediately. Halal Certificate and Permit holders are also reminded to always ensure that their Halal Certificate and Permit is still valid and to renew the application 3 months prior to the expiry date.
