Guard of Honour Ceremony

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah consents to a study made on the Employee's Trust Fund, TAP to assure its members upon retirement and approved the enforcement of the Old Age and Disabilities Pension Act Order Amendment 2021 and the Persons With Disabilities Order 2021 on the 1st of October 2021 for the well-being of the citizens and residents. In the titah during the Audience and Investiture Ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 75th Birthday Anniversary Celebration, His Majesty also consents for Brunei Darussalam citizens who are in daily pay and open vote service who fulfil the conditions to be absorbed into permanent service in phases to ensure the well-being of civil servants is always cared for. To stimulate the country's socio-economic innovation, the monarch also consents to the establishment of the Council for Research and Advancement in Technology and Science. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Birthday Anniversary Celebration began with the Guard of Honour Parade ceremony yesterday morning at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital. His Majesty graced the ceremony.

The Guard of Honour Parade in conjunction with His Majesty's 75th birthday anniversary celebration took place in a joyful atmosphere with the presence of people from all walks of life which shows their undivided loyalty towards the monarch.

His Majesty's arrival was greeted with the proud waving of Brunei Darussalam miniature flags by some 6 thousand school students lined up along the main thoroughfare towards Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien. The beating of the hadrah enlivened the monarch's arrival.

Upon arrival, His Majesty received the Royal Salute. At the same time 21 cannon shots echoed in the air, to the accompaniment of the National Anthem.

Also attending the ceremony were His Majesty's sons and brothers;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

The tradition-filled ceremony was also attended by His Majesty's special guests, among them, His Excellency Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security of the Republic of Singapore and wife, Madame Chew Poh Yim; and His Excellency Carlos Garcia Dominguez the Third, Financial Secretary of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Monarch then consented to inspect the Guard of Honour mounted by personnel of the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force, the Royal Brunei Police Force, uniformed government departments and public organisations. The Guard of Honour was under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Haji Saiful Amirul Bakri bin Pengiran Haji Ramlee. One thousand, one hundred 38 participants took part in the parade. The presence of these personnel shows the commitment to progress, be competitive, resolved and having one spirit and unity as well as solidarity in a team.

The combined Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Royal Brunei Police Force Bands accompanied the Guard of Honour march past in slow and fast march in front of the royal dais.

The activeness shown by every personnel portrays every agency's determination in establishing full cooperation and commitment towards defending the country, religion and race.

Three cheers of 'Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik' resounded in the air, representing a pledge of undivided loyalty to the monarch.

The culmination of the Guard of Honour Ceremony was the fly-past by the Royal Brunei Air Force helicopters.

The 15th of July is a very significant date for the country's citizens and residents. This is the time and moment for the people to express their gratitude, appreciation and undivided loyalty for His Majesty's leadership, attention and care towards the country's citizens and residents.
