17 babies born on 1st Muharram 1443 Hijrah, received gifts in conjunction with the National Level 1443 Hijrah New Year Celebration. The function was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jalan Dewan Majlis.

The gifts in the form of newborn necessities worth two hundred dollars and a religious book from the Ministry of Religious Affairs were presented by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Awang Maswadi bin Haji Moksin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health. Each baby also received a 'Purpose Saver - Education' Savings Account worth two hundred dollars and newborn necessities from Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB as well as $250 worth of Nur Savings and a gift from Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sendirian Berhad and its subsidiaries. A similar ceremony also took place at Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Religious School in Belait District. The gifts was presented by Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
