The callers were also found to be using foreign accents. The modus operandi of this scam activity is by contacting the victim and the caller or suspect introducing himself as a bank officer or law enforcement officer. The suspects then informs about financial loan claims, such as credit card usage transactions, or outstanding loan payments. Suspects will also transfer the calls to higher officials or those who have authority or power in order to trick the victim into believing their scam. The victim will be forced to make an immediate payment with a large amount of money to settle the claim and if they fail to make the payment, actions will be taken such as issuing a summons from the court or an order to arrest the victim.
