The opening of the Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Bridge last year has shortened the distance to Temburong District and made it easier for citizens and residents in the other districts to visit. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office said the number of visitors entering and exiting the country's borders are also expected to increase when the country's borders are operating as normal, once there is no longer the threat of COVID-19. In an interview during the Special Programme 'Temburong: Permata Hijau Negara Brunei Darussalam' or Temburong: Green Jewel Of Brunei Darussalam, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud as the Co-Chairman of the Temburong District Development Authority, AKDT, explained that the security infrastructure aspect will be improved to accommodate the number of visitors which are expected to increase.

Certainly the matter requires an enhancement of the security infrastructure. One of these is through installation of CCTV's at strategic locations to maintain the public's safety and well-being. The government has added 6 new counters at Labu Control Post and the counter for bus passenger inspection has also been completed. The increase for police asset requirements in Temburong District is also being assessed. Such improvements is hoped to maintain the community's well-being.
