Education and Training Workshop to Enhance Sustainable Practices for MSMES

The Brunei Economy Programme can be a platform that brings the private and public sectors together towards achieving Wawasan 2035, aside from supporting the Government's focus on 'Recovery, Sustainability and Digitalisation' by engaging the local and international business community. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy explained the matter at the virtual launching of the programme. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah stressed that the importance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs cannot be underestimated as it can make up over 97 per cent of all businesses and employ over half the workforce across the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC economies.

The Programme was officiated during a workshop on education and training to enhance sustainable practices for MSMEs organised by the APEC Business Advisory Council ABAC. Over 300 people from across the Asia Pacific joined the workshop which among others aimed to identify concrete recommendations to support MSMEs in their sustainability journey through education and training. The Brunei Economy Programme was hosted by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
