​In commemorating the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassalam which is celebrated every 12th of Rabiulawal, all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide resounded with the Dikir Mauludir Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam for 12 consecutive nights starting on the 26th September night. In the capital, the Dikir Opening Ceremony was held at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

The ceremony commenced with the reading of surah Al- Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony was filled with a short talk on the greatness of Salawat delivered by Awang Khairul Mu’az bin Haji Sibodaud, Religious Education Master’s Undergraduate in Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah Research, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.

The ceremony was highlighted with the recitation of Dikir Assalamualaika; Khairuman; Al- Hamd Sidiq; Bishahrin; Badat Si Japar; and Asyaraqal. Such a ceremony is one of the Islamic eminence in glorifying mosques, aside from commemorating the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam which is among the major Islamic events celebrated by Muslims in the country.
