​A Malaysian man was fined $97,000 by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate’s Court on two charges under Section 146(1)(D) of the Excise Order 2006.

KONG HAN YUEN, aged 38, was found guilty for possessing one hundred 99 VAPE JUICE, 89 MODIFIED E-CIGARETTES, 94 VAPE ACCESSORIES and cash amounting to $9,849 and 55 SGD. He was arrested by the Law Enforcement Division, Royal Customs and Excise Department, on 29th October 2021 at a house in Kampung Kilanas and paid the fine. All contraband was seized to be destroyed. Also seized was the proceeds of the vape sales in the form of cash amounting $4,547.
