As part of the continuous efforts to curb COVID-19 transmission, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD, has reactivated the Community for Brunei initiative. The initiative is one of BIBD's Corporate Social Responsibility.

Aside from other Corporate Social Responsibilities namely BIBD Alaf, BIBD Seeds, BIBD Catalyst, and BIBD Connects, the objective of the Community for Brunei, this time around is to provide a digital platform to collect contributions for non-governmental organisations, NGOs through the community for Brunei digital platform in efforts to support the frontliners. This is specifically for those placed at the National Isolation Centre in Tutong District and also at several vaccination centres nationwide by providing much needed supplies such as scrubs, food and daily necessities.

The public visiting the digital platform will be able to see which NGOs are collecting the contributions and where the funds will be channelled to and the amount required by the NGOs to reach their contribution's goal. Another objective of the digital platform is to facilitate the public wishing to register as volunteers, in together working in support of the NGOs as COVID-19 youth volunteers and the Brunei Red Crescent Society. The initiatives include food and face mask distribution to the less fortunate and also to stakeholders. The effort also supports the Ministry of Health's efforts through the vaccination campaign to keep Brunei safe by raising the public's awareness and encourage them to receive the vaccine injections as well as assist MSMEs wishing to become vendors in the virtual market place and continue their businesses virtually for the safety of their workers and customers as well as their business continuity.
