Business Dialogue, MoU Signing

The ways to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh in several sectors such as retail, finance, food industry and halal food sector become the focus in the Business Dialogue. The Dialogue which was held during the State Visit of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

 

Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Dr. Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary for Economy, Trade and Industry at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The Dialogue was also attended by His Excellency Tipu Munshi MP, Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh, His Excellency Salman F. Rahman, Adviser to the Honourable Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment and members from several Chambers of Commerce in Bangladesh. Also present was His Excellency Haji Haris bin Haji Othman, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

 

Following the Business Dialogue, the Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU was held between Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd and Zes Trading. The MoU was signed by Dr. Nur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Ghanim International and Dr. Kazi Ertaza Hassan, Chairperson of Vorerpata Group of Industries and Director of the FBCCI. The MoU aims to expand cooperation between both companies among others, through the distribution and selling of Bruneihalalfood products in Bangladesh. Launching Ceremony of Bruneihalalfood products was also held.
