His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah reminds on the importance for the country to always be prepared by building a more sustainable system to tackle any crisis that occurs as it is not impossible for crisis such as the pandemic to reoccur in the future. His Majesty also reminds that the time has come for the Ministry of Education to formulate a policy and strategic plan aimed at achieving the objective of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
In the titah at the 32nd Teachers’ Day Celebration, 27th September morning, His Majesty likened the Teachers Day theme which is ‘Quality Teachers Spur Education Transformation’, as very relevant especially with the global situation which is experiencing obvious changes, specifically due to the spread of COVID-19. His Majesty adds that the world is going through a most challenging situation in teaching and learning, which is unprecedented. All these, His Majesty says in his titah, gives a significant impact to the education system, including to teachers worldwide. In this regard, the Monarch stresses that the country should be grateful that education in the country can be continued despite obstacles and constraints.
