Four decades since its establishment, the Brunei History Centre acts as the Centre of Excellence for the History and Sultanate of Brunei. The centre is also known for its excellence through its expertise, quality of education, services provided, even becoming a choice and reference for students in the country. The matter was shared during a media conference on the Launching Ceremony for Centre of Excellence for the History and Sultanate of Brunei and Resource Collection Room of Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Honorary Professor Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri.

During the media conference, Awang Hanafi bin Haji Salleh, Deputy Head of Brunei History Centre explained that the launching ceremony will be held this Thursday, 9th February at Borneo Research Centre in Anggerek Desa. He added, the Resource Collection Room of Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Honorary Professor Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri will have more than 3,000 collections related to the study of the history of the sultanate in the country. It is hoped to bring the community closer to the history of the country as well as to become a source of inspiration for the next generation to continue the legacy of a prominent national historian.
