Briefing on Abandoned Vehicle Issue

The public is reminded not to abandon their vehicles in order to maintain cleanliness of the environment, and not to obstruct the road for public use. Actions will be taken and a $500 compound will be issued in accordance to the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Chapter 30. The reminder was made during a briefing session on the issue of abandoned vehicles, organised by the Kampung Menunggol Consultative Council in collaboration with government agencies including the Brunei Muara District Office, Land Transport Department, LTD and the Royal Brunei Police Force.

The briefing was delivered by Awang Hasnul Kamal Asari bin Haji Azahari, Senior Licensing Officer at LTD who shared information on services under the purview of LTD. The session was one of the projects by MUMTAZ Group, which comprised of participants of the Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers of the 33rd Cohort.

Also held was a Data Collection Activity for Abandoned Vehicles, organised by the Nakhoda Abdul Rashid Primary School. The activity's goal was to empower students by enriching their knowledge, skills and competency for the 21st century, inline with the National Education System for the 21st Century, or SPN21. Apart from that, the activity also supported the Education 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as giving support to Science, Technology, Environment and Mathematics, STEM.
