The victims of disasters yesterday received financial assistance from the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Such assistance can alleviate the burden of the victims in order for them to continue their daily lives. The effort shows the government's concern to citizens and residents who fell victim to disasters. The presentation of assistance took place at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Among the recipients was the head of a family who fell victim to a fire at Kampung Telisai on 27th July 2022. The assistance was presented by Dayang Mirany Floridzah binti Abdul Rahman, Acting Deputy Director of the Community Development Department.

Meanwhile also receiving assistance were three other heads of families who were victims of strong winds which blew off the home's roofs. The three families lived in Kampung Masin, Kampung Junjungan and Kampung Saba Darat 'A'. Their roofs of their homes were blown off during heavy rains and strong winds on the 10th and 17th of July 2022.
