ASEAN Working Group on Halal Food Meeting

The progress of the implementation of the ASEAN Action Plan in Halal Food 2021 to 2025 and the establishment of the International Halal Authority Board, were among the matters discussed during the 17th ASEAN Working Group on Halal Food Meeting. The meeting yesterday morning was held virtually at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This year’s meeting was chaired by Cambodia.


Representing the Brunei Darussalam Delegation at the meeting was Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Matzin, Acting Director of Syariah Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs. The ASEAN Working Group on Halal Food was established to facilitate uniformity of Halal standards especially in ASEAN, to meet the increasing demands for trustworthy and secure Halal products and services, aside from ensuring that Muslims feel safe and confident with the Halal products.
