ASEAN Ministerial Conference

​The COVID-19 pandemic provides various valuable lessons with the need to accelerate digital transformation. Among the requirements is not to leave anyone behind; ensuring a safe cyberspace and the need for new rules for a more digital world. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications shared the matter while attending the Singapore International Cyber Week, SICW 2022 and the 7th ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity, AMCC. The 3-day conference ended on 20th October, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the Republic of Singapore.

 

During the Roundtables session, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, who is also the Minister in-charge of Cybersecurity, Brunei Darussalam said that the digital domain has become a more important part of everyday lives, threats in the digital domain have become more serious and more challenging. There are no borders in the digital domain thus international cooperation is imperative to build a robust framework that safeguard cyberspace and promote confidence and trust.

 

With the theme, ‘Digital Security – A Shared Responsibility’, SICW 2022 was officiated by His Excellency Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, the Republic of Singapore. During the SICW 2022, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications also took the opportunity to observe and support students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB who are participating in the Singapore Cyber Conquest, SCC.
