ASEAN Leaders extended appreciation for Japan's assistance in supporting ASEAN's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, including contributions to the ASEAN COVID-19 Response Fund and training of researchers and experts for the ASEAN Center for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Disease. Leaders also encouraged opportunities to intensify cooperation in areas including digital economy, quality infrastructure, green growth as well as the facilitation of trade and investment towards sustainable development and recovery.
