AEWON Open Badminton Championship 2021

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman last night watched the semi-finals of the Aewon Open Badminton Championship 2021. Joining the championship held in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 75th birthday celebration is His Royal Highness' son, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim, who is competing in the Under 14 Men's Doubles. Also in attendance was Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah. The championship took place at the Youth Centre in the capital.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were greeted by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim and Dessen Chung Min Tin beat duo Md Mirza Afif Syahmi and Md Syarifuddin Ermadena in straight sets 21-11, 21-9.

Eight categories are competed in the championship. The championship is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Brunei Muara District Office, Ministry of Home Affairs and the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Association.
