The Ministry of Education Digital Transformation Plan is a long-term strategy in implementing digital learning as a new normal in the education system in Brunei Darussalam. In supporting the strategy, the Minister of Education stated three main areas were given priority, namely; Educational Technology, Management Technology, and Enabling Policies and Infrastructure. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman shared the matter during the 5th ASEAN Plus Three Education Ministers' Meeting which was held virtually.

The Minister of Education also shared that the Ministry of Education have also been continuously introducing a number of professional development initiatives to enhance the digital readiness of teachers, schools and system leaders. Yang Berhormat also participated in the 5th East Asia Summit of Education Ministers. With the theme, Transforming Education The ASEAN Way: Forging Partnerships in the Age of Global Disruptions, the meeting was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of the Philippines as the chairman of this year's meeting. The meeting was officiated by His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Republic of the Philippines.
