56 New Cases, 5 New Clusters Detected, 255 Cases Recovered

156 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the country, taking the total cases to 11,542.

There are 29 additional new cases to 14 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. 5 new clusters have been detected involving 46 cases. All of the new clusters are housing clusters that accommodate companies' employees which are Kilanas Staff House Cluster; Megalift Sendirian Berhad Cluster; HTB Biltech Sendirian Berhad Cluster; Mashor OPS Staff House, and Rani Jaya Staff House Cluster. 4 clusters have been closed following no new detected cases in the clusters for 28 days. They are clusters BSP HQ Block M; 583, 3096 and 3381.

Therefore, the current total active clusters are 166 clusters. 81 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection. 255 cases have recovered yesterday, bringing the total recovered cases in the country to 8,874, whereas total number active cases are 2 thousand 588 cases. 6 cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with 3 cases require the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 22 cases are categorised in Category 4 that require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 6,196 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 460,375.
