504 New Cases, 4 Clusters Detected, 195 Recovered

504 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 10,860.

There are 208 additional new cases to 30 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. Meanwhile, four new clusters have been detected that involved 93 cases. All of the new clusters are residence clusters where three of it, namely Jalan Kota Batu Construction Cluster, Trentset Construction Sdn Bhd, and Bato Apoi Construction Cluster which are housing clusters where the companies' employees are residing. Three clusters have been closed following no new detected cases in the clusters for 28 days. The closed clusters are 2629 Cluster, 3892 Cluster and 4812 Cluster. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 170 clusters. 203 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

195 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 8,045 cases, with 2,741 cases remaining active. Among the cases seven cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 29 Category 4 cases require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 5,657 samples have been tested for the SARS-Co-V-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 442,053 tests.
