43 New Cases, 1 New Cluster, 115 Cases Recovered

43 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Brunei Darussalam, taking the total cases to 14,215. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al'Afiah, Ministry of Health.

There are 25 additional new cases to 7 existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. One new cluster has been detected that involved 4 cases. The new cluster is a residential cluster. 3 clusters have been closed following no new detected cases for 28 days. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 164 clusters. 14 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

115 cases have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 13,562 cases, whereas the total number of active cases are 555. Four cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. Three Category 4 cases require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 4,826 samples have been tested for the SARS-Co-V-2 virus, taking the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 560,141 tests.
