42 New COVID-19 Cases Reported

42 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cases to 406. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-‘Afiah, Ministry of Health. Also joining the media conference were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

 

Four new cases are related to the total Cluster reported yesterday.

 

29 more new cases are related to Case 363 reported yesterday. This cluster is now known as the Chung Hwa KB Cluster.

 

5 more new cases are related to Case 364 reported yesterday. This cluster is now known as the ABCi Cluster.

 

4 more new cases are import cases which is a family arriving from Africa via Kuala Lumpur on the 30th of July 2021.

 

Contact tracing for all these new cases is still ongoing. All identified close contacts will be instructed to undergo mandatory quarantine and the SARS-CoV-2 RTPCR testing.

 

 

With the detection of the new cases, 38 local cases are reported yesterday. Meanwhile, 11 cases have recovered. 98 active cases are still being treated at the National Isolation Centre and all are in stable condition. In the past 24-hours, 1,197 samples of SARS Co-V-Two virus test were carried out, bringing the total number of lab tests conducted since January 2020 to 157,892.
