326 New Cases, 3 New Clusters

326 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Brunei Darussalam yesterday, bringing the total number to 6,286.

There are 61 additional new cases to 19 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. Meanwhile, three new clusters have been detected bringing the current total active clusters to 106 clusters. The clusters are Pusat Al-Islah Cluster that contains 128 cases; Serambangun Industrial Park Cluster with 25 cases; and 5532 Cluster with 8 cases. 104 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection. 166 cases have recovered yesterday bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 4,188 cases, with 2,054 cases remaining active.

Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, eight cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requiring the help of an additional heart/lung machine or ECMO. 31 Category 4 cases require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, a total of 4,487 samples have been tested for the SARS-Co-V-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 330,478 tests.
