29th IBTE Convocation Ceremony

Strengthening the Technical and Vocational Education Training T-VET System, is a step seen as very appropriate because the field will help the country in shaping human capital towards the formation of new technologies as well as good values which enable graduates to address challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The Minister of Education stated the matter at the 29th IBTE Convocation Ceremony yesterday MORNING. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman called on the IBTE to take steps to improve and add value in every study programme offered, designed to meet market needs.

The Minister of Education added that cooperation networks with the industry need to be intensified to open up broader training opportunities, especially in certain areas that are critical in producing a highly skilled workforce in the country. In order to meet the growing demand for skilled manpower in line with the local job market, IBTE's strategic planning must be continued by increasing the supply of learning venues through cooperation with the industry.

1,893 graduates received their diplomas and certificates at the IBTE Convocation Ceremony. The ceremony coincided with the presentation of the Best Trainee Teacher Award, Best Achievement Award, Best Student Award and Special Student Award. Also present were Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Sabli bin Haji Arsad, Member of the Legislative Council.
