263 New Cases, 5 New Clusters, 127 Recovered

263 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Brunei Darussalam, bringing the total number to 5,960.

There are 113 additional new cases to 17 of the existing active clusters. The cases in these active clusters are individuals who are currently being quarantined and were found to be in contact with several confirmed cases. Meanwhile, five new clusters have been detected. The new clusters are, 3774 Cluster that contains 7 new cases; 5390 Cluster that contains 5 new cases; 5677 Cluster that contains 14 new cases; 5449 Cluster that contains 7 new cases; and 5673 Cluster that contains 5 new cases. Meanwhile, two clusters have been closed following no new detected cases in the cluster for 28 days. The closed clusters are Dragon Boat Cluster and 451 Cluster. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 103 clusters. At this time, 112 cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

Meanwhile, 127 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 4,022 cases, with 1,898 cases remaining active. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, seven cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requiring the help of an additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. Meanwhile, thirty one cases are categorised in Category 4 that require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, a total of 4,609 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 325,991.
