25 New Cases, 2 New Clusters Detected, 38 Cases Recovered

25 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the country, bringing the total COVID-19 cases to 15,308. The Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said 2 new clusters were also detected yesterday.

There are 8 additional new cases to 6 of the existing active clusters who are previously close contacts with several positive cases. There are two new clusters detected today that involved 9 cases. One of the new cluster is Mashor General Contractor Cluster which is a workplace cluster. Four clusters were closed following no new detected cases for 28 days, namely Adinin Works & Engineering Jalan Sungai Pandan staff house Cluster, 13878 Cluster, Meem Sendirian Berhad Cluster and KYG Construction Sendirian Berhad Cluster. Therefore, current total active clusters stand at 102. 8 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of infection.

38 cases have recovered, meanwhile the total active cases are 285 cases. Among the cases, one is in Category 5 and is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit, requiring assistance of artificial ventilation, as well as additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. 4,060 samples have been tested for the SARS-Co-V-2 virus which brings the total number of lab tests carried out since January 2020 to 657,619.
