Seeking Protection for Palestine

¬His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined the country's citizens and residents for the Sunat Hajat Prayer and Reading of Doa Qunut Nazilah to seek protection and safety for the People of Palestine. The ceremony took place at Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampung Kiarong.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the Chairman of Major Islamic Events Executive Committee for 1442 Hijrah; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

The mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim also led the Sunat Hajat prayer and reading of Surah Yassin to seek protection and safety for the people of Palestine.

The special prayer was read by the State Mufti.

His Majesty, members of the royal family and other congregants then performed the mass Fardhu Isyak prayer led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

The Sunat Hajat Prayer and Reading of Doa Qunut Nazilah to seek protection and safety for the people of Palestine will continue to be held during the mass five obligatory prayers and Fardhu Jumaat prayer. It will be held for a month or until a later date at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide.
