The Department of Immigration and National Registration reminded the public that the department will continue to carry out arrests, investigation and legal action against individual's committing unlawful acts in accordance with the allocated jurisdiction. The reminder was issued following several offenses found during 'Operasi Langis' carried out by the Law Enforcement Division, Department of Immigration and National Registration, JIPK in several separate areas in Brunei Muara Districts.
In an operation carried out yesterday at a tailor shop in Kampung Mulaut, a foreign woman working at the shop was arrested for holding a social visit pass. She was brought to the Law Enforcement Division of JIPK, Bandar Seri Begawan for further investigation and action under the Immigration Act and Regulations Chapter 17.
Meanwhile, 5 foreign nationals were arrested in an operation carried out EARLY yesterday MORNING in several rented rooms at 3 separate locations. Inspection carried out on several occupants renting rooms at Mukim Kota Batu, have arrested a foreign man found to be in violation of the Immigration Act and Regulations Chapter 17 as he was listed on the list of 'Runaway Employee From Employer'.
Meanwhile in the operation carried out at rented rooms in Mukim Berakas A, 10 foreign nationals were inspected. Of that number, 3 were detained for failing to show valid documents during the inspection.
During the operation in the rented rooms in Mukim Gadong, 14 people were inspected. Of that number, one was detained for failing to present valid documents. All foreign nationals detained were brought to the Headquarters of Department of Immigration and National Registration, Law Enforcement Division Bandar Seri Begawan for further investigation and action.
