A road accident occurred in Jerudong area involving an ambulance from Limbang Hospital on Sunday, 11th of April 2021. The Ministry of Health in its press release stated that the ambulance was on the way from Limbang Hospital to Miri Hospital travelling through Brunei Darussalam and carrying a Malaysian patient accompanied by three staff from Limbang Hospital.
Upon receiving the information, the Emergency Medical Ambulance Services, Ministry of Health immediately sent an ambulance to the accident site to assist and bring the injured patient and staff to the Emergency Section at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital. All individuals involved sustained minor injuries and were treated according to the current COVID-19 protocol. The ambulance was not carrying a COVID-19 infected patient. The ambulance has already been given permission to send the patient to Miri Hospital using a route passing through the country. An additional ambulance from Limbang Hospital was also given permission to enter the country to bring the patient and staff to Miri Hospital. The public is advised not to be alarmed and not to spread any false information related to the incident.
