The Ministry of Energy through the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, PABD, will always provide support and encouragement to petrol stations in jointly improving the level of compliance with safety regulations by engaging in continuous monitoring of petrol stations. The Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy stated the matter while launching the renaming of forecourt attendant working at petrol stations as 'Service Champion'. Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra further said PADB will continue to support any safety campaigns conducted to educate consumers on safety while at petrol stations. The event in conjunction with Service Champion Day was held this afternoon at Tarindak D'Seni in the capital.
The Ministry of Energy in collaboration with the Land Transport Department, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications will also support the BSM Company's initiative in issuing violence warning posters at petrol stations. This can help protect and strengthen the 'Service Champion' role as well as increase their confidence to advised customers who do not comply with safety rules.
Among the objective of the event is an appreciation to all the Service Champions for their dedication and fine work in serving the customers and as frontliners in the retail business. 19 individuals received their Retail Awards and Certificates of Appreciation for their 20 and 25 years of service.
