RBAF Officers Safely Return

Two officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF who were part of the 'Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring And Assistance Team' - IDB Vmat 2/2020 In Mindanao, The Republic Of The Philippines, have safely returned to the country on the 10th of March after completing a placement for 13 months under the IDB flag, together with other members of IDB including Turkey and Norway as well as representatives from the government of the Republic of the Philippines, and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, MILF. The event to celebrate the return of the officers was held this morning at the Multipurpose Hall, Bolkiah Garrison.

Present was Brigadier General Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir, Joint Force Commander of RBAF. Brunei Darussalam's Contingent was led by Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Hanafi Azami bin Nayan and Captain Udara Mohammad Aliff bin Haji Zulkifli. As a member of the IDB VMAT in Mindanao, although the involvement is small, it is still a manifestation and commitment of Brunei Darussalam in contributing to the peace process in Mindanao. Also present was Haji Adi Ihram bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Strategy at the Ministry of Defence.
