Before the session heard the introduction and direction of the Ministry of Health's budget allocation, the council approved the allocation for the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications amounting to $100,105,838 to be made as part of the Supply Bill 2021/2022 Schedule.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, in his deliberations shared on the theme for this year's Ministry of Health budget allocation, which is strengthening safety and infection control. Yang Berhormat said the theme is inline with the current needs and must to be prioritised as a precautionary measure for planning the economic recovery strategy due to the impact of COVID-19.
The Minister of Health said that the main focus of the 2021/2022 budget include prioritising prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases; improving the maintenance of medical equipment and health facilities; improve infection control in clinical and medical settings; to raise awareness on the importance of optimal cleanliness; ensure a safe, quality and continuous supply of consumer medicines and to take advantage of the development of medical technology in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 in healthcare.
