The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Department of Community Development has launched the National Frame on Child Protection, NFCP on the 21st of December 2020 that aims to improve the protection and well-being of children. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports explained that the framework provides a network to ensure a strong child protection system by involving coordination from multi-agency. This was in response to a query from Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Tahamit bin Haji Nudin on child abuse.
Yang Berhormat added the Registry of Child and Young Person Need in of Protection, RCYPNP database will be launched in April this year. So far, 90 cases involving children have been registered under RCYPNP. With the centralised data base, data collection will enable coordination between agencies to conduct investigation, treatment and prevention of protection cases.
