Self-Sufficiency in Agriculture and Fisheries

The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism also explained on the country's self-sufficiency achievements in several sectors including agriculture and fisheries.

On average, the country has almost achieved 100 per cent self-sufficiency in the broiler sector, 100 per cent self-sufficiency for the supply of chicken eggs and about 62 per cent self-sufficiency for the supply of buffaloes and cows. As for the crop sector, the country achieved about 67 per cent self-sufficiency, for the supply of tropical vegetables and 46 percent self-sufficiency for the supply of tropical fruits for the paddy sector, the country achieved an average of around 8.23 percent self-sufficiency. And the national fisheries sector has achieved an average of around 81 per cent self-sufficiency.
