With the vision 'Sustainable and Diverse Energy for Brunei Darussalam's Growth and Prosperity', the Ministry of Energy is working closely with ministries, national agencies as well as the private sector towards realising the vision. The Minister of Energy explained, the vision is inline with the national strategic plans including the Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint, Digital Economy Masterplan as well as the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy, and is directed towards the Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Yang Berhormat said that this year, the Ministry of Energy will focus fully on moving its strategic objectives to develop the energy sector in Brunei Darussalam holistically, especially the oil and gas upstream and downstream sectors, power, renewable energy and green energy technologies. The recovery of global economy is expected to increase demands for natural gas energy resources in several regions including South East Asia and European nations. Throughout 2021 to 2022, the Ministry of Energy will further strengthen the production of the country's main export namely Liquefied Natural Gas to fulfil the region's demands.
