The meeting convened yesterday afternoon with Members of the Legislative Council deliberating the Supply Bill 2021-2022, touching on various issues. This includes the implementation of Fiscal Consolidation in reducing national expenditure. In response to a query raised by Yang Berhormat Architect Dayang Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Awang Haji Abdul Rahman, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy explained that the Fiscal Consolidation Programme has provided a positive impact from the aspect of corporatisation with a decline in government expenditure in 2019-2020 compared to previous years.
The Minister also said that the impact of the programme can be seen from projects implemented such as at Muara Port with the cooperation of Muara Port Company. This project has saved the government on fee payments and others, at least 20 million dollars a year.
