Brunei Darussalam's Gross Domestic Product, GDP Growth for 2020 recorded an increase including in the manufacturing, communications, and trade sub-sectors. However, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy explained that the Oil and Gas Sector recorded a decline of 4.9% due to a decrease in the production of crude oil and natural gas.
Yang Berhormat added that for 2021, Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS has proposed a GDP Growth between 0.8 to 1.6%, whereby the Oil and Gas Sector's expected growth is at a rate of point 5%, while the non-oil and gas sector is between 1.1% to 2.9%. This is boosted by growth in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sectors as well as Industry and Services Sectors.
